Upon returning to Nunki Valley, Sagi finds Heughs' team burning down the forest to make way for machina. With diplomacy out the window, the trio engages Heughes in battle but are no match for his [[Machina Arma]]. [[Shanath]] arrives and orders the delivery of a bestial [[afterling]] that they acquired earlier. After killing the afterling and blacking out, Sagi and crew and saved by [[Palolo II]].

Later in the game, the three return to Nunki Valley to take on Heughes one more time and manage to stop his promachination team and let the forest begin to recover.
